Split the prize amount among designers for projects under review more than 6 months.
As per 99Design system, when a CH started a contest he/ she have to deposit the whole amount (including 99Designs fees). In few cases the prize amount refunded. But, I can see few projects which are still under review after 1 year or more.
So, my question to 99Designs is that where the money goes for such contest?
My suggestion is either refund or split the prize amount among participating designers.
Few contests are given below which are not refunded and still under review after 1 or nearly 2 years.
These are just few and I know there are many like this.
The amount should be divided among designers in order of rating and divide equally if not rating given.
I hope this idea will not be deleted by admins.
This scenario seems to be a "dropped ball" issue. Some of the contests are for very small amounts and it's unbelievable a designer should have to wait more than 30 days for any project to be awarded. From the designers perspective, these contests are entered mostly to pay bills or basic livelihood who would want to invest their time and energy and then see the funds go into some "black hole" with no further discussion.
It's just absurd to disregard the designer so blatantly. I'm sure all parties involved are grateful for a place like 99Designs but not if it means not getting paid.
We wouldn't be here if not for 99Designs and alternatively 99Designs wouldn't exist if not for designers. So why not be fair.
that defiantly needs to be fixed! CHs MUST finalise review/or refund within 3 months or loose deposit/payment. Maybe it would be a possibility to "earmark" the money (minus fees) equally through all participating designers and subtract fees from the next job. So 99d wouldn't have to pay out the money, but designers still haven't participated in vain?!
I think, 99D not interested to tell where the money goes for such situations as mentioned. No answer since last 2 months makes it clear that the prize money goes to 99D :-)

out of votes, but I definitely would give this all 10!
I will request you all to go "My Contest" page and scroll over last page; I am sure, most will find there are 2 or 3 such contests which are still under "Review" status; Just check how old those contests are, few 6 months few even 18 months :-)
