Give exclusive rights to Contest Holders to view entries declined

This can prevent copying of ideas, because other designers will not be able to see the entries. (credits to l3fty and other designers who have fed back most recently in the destiny contest)

I know where you are coming from on this, but as a whole I think this would be bad for the system. Having entries and feedback open allows a contest holder to not have to repeat themselves again and again in feedback and it allows designers to learn from and inspire each other.

one thing that troubles me about this is if designers cant see other's entries, we can't be vigilant against those who rips designs from other design sites, stock images, cliparts etc., with this we also protect the CHs interest. The current system develops ones skills as designers, that's why I love this site!!

How about when a CH asks the designers to copy elements from another designers' concept.... more and more contest holders are doing that these days (had it happen to me twice in space of a week), what should be done with the designers that DO COPY another designers' work and resubmit an entry with these exact same elements ? PS. Not in favour of blind entries, but this copying has to be stopped !

bad idea. If you're that scared of copyright violations, get off the 'net. A simple cease and desist is enough. However, I do think that a rating button for those who DO violate copyright is a GOOD idea.

i agree with chriscubos and dddesign. if your design is worth the winning, then you shouldn't be afraid of anyone copying your designs. That is why each entry is numbered so that in a way the CH would also know as to whose idea it really was. Besides, quick response of designer also matters to most CHs a lot, not just the entry.

blind contests would not work especialy for new designers it helped me a lot to get the idea of how it works.PENALTIES: I see someone stealing concept I report it to 99 and they deside if design is stolen if they decide that design is stolen they give one penalty and entry is automaticaly eliminated. if he get tree penalties his profile gets off of the site.

    What others think???

As for inspiration, their are plenty galleries over the web
CH's would not have to repeat them selves if they post feedback on the public comments section for things they think all contestants should know and private feedback concerning specific details about each particular design.

So to conclude this up i'd say i prefer this feature to be added.maybe re-open for public once contest's ended?

I've looked at several designs per contest and I must say that only a few (almost less than 1%) are copying ideas from other designers. Sometimes if I already see a good design (winner) material, I wouldn't join ... This is also where the user voting for the design would help a lot.

    I think It'd be a great improvement :
1- Prevents copying and all the hassle that goes with(No one could pretend s'one has copied their work even with a 100% resemblance).
2- Designers would get mor creative.
3- CH would b more satisfied as he'd get varied styles.
4- If i submit a design and give people "inspiration" it'd be unfair for me as it's gonna reduce their work time while stealing mine...

Id say, we keep the current system of 99designs! It's the best for me, so far!

i agree with lachlan. i've been on this kind of system (from a different site).. It didn't work for me. It was difficult not knowing what the CH wanted. And, mostly, newbies in there do not win. Maybe so, your entry wasn't really copied. Maybe the other contestant just followed the brief, same as you did. Yes, there are indeed a few who'd copy designs, but there are only a few. You cannot judge.

Inspiration is great, but we see that there is much more than that happening. What if there us an option that the designer could toggle on or off if they would like their entries submitted "invisible" to all but the contest holder? It would show in the thread as submitted but the entry is blocked out. Though I believe some of this could be resolved going back to the "moderator pool" solution.
