Profile Portfolio

Currently if you look on a designer's profile you see thumbnails of their wins and any contests they are involved in, but I think it would be nice if a designer could customise their profile a little more, and add clickable thumbnails to their favourite submissions, even if they didn't win. Just thought of this because I see some people have done incredible work, but might only have like 3 wins on their profile. Thanks.

Yup, absolutely, this is something we have wanted to do since day 1 :)

This is a great feature. There will be a chosen non winning entries to be part of the artist's portfolio

thumbs up - don't have more votes to vote on this one :/

this is a good idea.

Yes, as a "contest holder" I'd like to see even the losing entries - just because someone didn't like that entry doesn't mean I don't like it:) I'd like to see the designers' work>

Thought of the same. The incredible amount of collective energy that goes into contest submissions seem to all become disposable when there's no easy way to reuse or store the results. If you put several hours into a design, and don't win, then what? It wears on you, if the result is just completely ignored or disposed of. It feels less motivating to put in as much work as a result.

Great idea. But please be aware that a common practice is to withdraw the non-winning designs when a contest ends - mainly for protecting oneself against further, unauthorized use of ideas. This feature would be meaningful only, if we had a function to un-withdraw or re-submit designs - otherwise it's only an ex post facto change of the rules, thus, unfair.

Great Idea. I love it... Some of my designs don't make it, but I think they're quite nice and I've put quite alot of effort into them.

It's a good idea for people who need to show a portfolio if they don't have one posted elsewhere, but hopefully, this will be a separate folio to the one that shows the designers' winning entries ;-)

I agree wholeheartedly with this concept, but i also agree with Nadia here. A distinction must be made within the portfolio between winning contest entries, and the artist's personal fav. submissions. This should also facilitate the CH's in navigating through and learning more about their designers' styles and capabilities.

this feature is a must.

It would be nice to have a distinction between withdrawing an entry from a contest, hiding it from public view (but still stored) and deleting it completely.

Yup its a brilliant idea! But there would have to be a feature were you can NOT show certain designs, because my first design is VERY embarrassing! :D

2 votes from me- it is a good idea, BUT I think that something like this might also encourage people to "borrow" ideas from other designers a lot more frequently...just a thought

@jhewit22 it should do the opposite because this way you wont have old designs tucked away in closed competitions and if someone does steal your work it's right there for the world to see, time stamp and all :)

This would be a great start to a way better designing atmosphere, even though I just joined it gets kind of painful watching the logos you worked soo hard on to, just be eliminated! :( I can not wait for this to start. It sucks I can't give all my points away to this one! I would if I could! :)

Man this is going to be good! =)

this is something required for all designers. I personally like this idea very much. I can re-direct my client to visit my 99design's portfolio. and that's it :) I don't have to say or write anything more about my work :D

I absolutely agree. There are some designs that I have worked on and are pretty proud of. It would be great to have a place to display them even if they aren't the winning design. Got my vote!!
