Have Logos For Sale

I think it would be cool if we could submit logos ideas that were never selected, and put them up for sale.

Say you have a logo that was thought to be very well designed, but it was never chosen, you could put it in some sort of sale area and mark your preferred price. Sort of like an ebay for logos.

The thing would be that the overall rating of your logo would have to be good to avoid people posting all sorts of ideas. Maybe have a panel of trusted judges or some way to approve it.

  1. One more note: You could also add your preferences for the type of place it could go to. Like adding tags for your logo. So you could have a logo that's tags were: music, hip-hop, r&b, rap, rock. This way, clients can find them easier, or just browse. The client could also pay a smaller fee to get a recycled logo rather than hold a contest. There are several possibilities for something like this.

  2. This is a great idea but shouldnt just be restricted to logos. Being able to show past designs on the portfolio page that is planned is good but you could also mark them as for sale. You select the price and payment method and then everything is done how it normally is.

  3. That's a great idea! I really think they should do it this way!

  4. There's already a place to sell your logos /web page designs ;-) It's here:
    http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/

  5. I see that, But it still looks like it needs some work. I mean there seems to be a lot of web templates and stuff like that for sale, but maybe a section just for the stuff done on 99designs. I don't know.

  6. I would love for this to happen!!! My only issue would be, that if it's limited to people who have only received 4 or 5 star ratings, the rating might have nothing to do with the QUALITY of the design, but the relevence to the contest it was originally entered in.

  7. good idea

  8. disagree... how do distinguish between the thousands (at least) of profitable designs from one another. Copyright infringement would run rampant w/ ppl saying they placed it on the site before another, followed by ppl replying with 'created by' dates of illustrator files. Logistical nightmare. Sounds easy enough (and a really good idea) in principle, but implementation is another thing...

  9. I think a logo store would be a very nice idea, but not only for recycled logos. I think it would be better to sell every logo concept:).

  10. Well it's not like the idea matters anymore because someone already took it and claimed it as their own and gave me zero credit. I guess that's the business world for ya.

  11. Who are you talking about jmill?

  12. There is a site called "IncSpring" who coincidentally came out with this site idea shortly after I not only posted it here, but was actually dumb enough to post it to an idea site.

They even recruited people from places like here to get it started. I guess it doesn't matter. I mean I would have liked it if a place like this did it first, but I still fell sort of ripped off.

  13. this would be great idea! Just like istock but with logos. 99designs is already wasting storage space by having logos in closed contests. It just makes sense to try and sell them.

  14. There isn't a "Logo" section in the Marketplace is there?
