Go to designers design when clicked (on comments)

The amount of times a see a designers comment made on the main landing page of a contest and i would like to see their other designs, i click their name but it goes to their account homepage rather than the designs. Is it possible to change the link or change it so their is a little link in the corner saying 'View Designs'?

    Make all contests prepaid

Simple as headline :) Make all contests prepaid and once for all finish with non paying CH's and make them more serious about their projects. It is a fact that on any other site they would need to put the money in escrow or pre-pay before their project is posted.

    Designer Protection

99designs should protect designers better, by at the very least not allowing other designers to read feedback on your own designs. It's a tad unfair when you have "half a good logo" that needs tweaked, then someone takes the good half, and tweaks the other half and wins while you are out for the weekend :)

Add uncoded category in web design

I really would like if 99designs can split the Web desing category in uncoded projects and coded projects. It would be very helpfull

    Prevent Copying (very simple method)

    SImple.
Give only CH right to view designs in FULL SCREEN,
while designer can only see thumbnails (maybe even smaller than those now).
I've seen far too many times here when someone get 4 or 5 stars rating ,designers after that specific 4 or 5 star entry, suddenly change their design start "borrowing" elements from other entrant.
Any1 who entered more than 20 contest here and got 4 or 5 stars knows what i'm talking about.

Force CHs to at least mark a design as "seen"

In order to not treat designers unfairly or leave them in the dark a fair system must exist that forces CHs to at least look at the designs, give stars or comments. It has happened that designers have done work and entered late, but within the timeframe and a winner had been selected. This is unfair and a waste of time. A designer should know if the CH saw the design and there should be some kind of mark or acknowledgement for this. It is ok to not leave a comment if there are many designs, but one should know if it was at least considered.

    Have Logos For Sale

I think it would be cool if we could submit logos ideas that were never selected, and put them up for sale.

Say you have a logo that was thought to be very well designed, but it was never chosen, you could put it in some sort of sale area and mark your preferred price. Sort of like an ebay for logos.

The thing would be that the overall rating of your logo would have to be good to avoid people posting all sorts of ideas. Maybe have a panel of trusted judges or some way to approve it.

    Prepaid contests started

Contests where the contest holder has paid ahead of time

This feature is well under way, once we finish the trial of the guaranteed contest feature this will become a standard option for contest holders.

Remove "won" Contests From "Find a Contest"

On the "Find a Design Contest" page, it shows time left for contests that have already been won implying there is still time to enter it.

allow designers to manage their entered & watched contests

allow designers to manage both their entered and their watched contests. for example, removing a contest from the "entered" list if you've withdrawn all of your submissions, or removing a watched contest if you're no longer interested.

Add a marketplace of designs not chosen

Why not give designers the ability to post designs they created but did not get picked and open a whole new marketplace for design work? Give designers the ability to upload the files and set a price - 99designs can take a cut and everyone is happy. As a CH, sometimes we pet projects, or there are other designs we like that did not win. This would give us a place to grab a design in a pinch.

Display if an entry has received feedback next to rating

on the contest page, you can see the entries rating before clicking on it, but you have no idea on whether or not it has received feedback like you used to. some CH's dont like to leave stars, so it makes it hard to browse around

Add ability to favorite or bookmark a designer

After reading the recent article about designabot on sitepoint, I wanted to make sure I remembered his username. I went to his portfolio, but there's no way for the CH to "bookmark" or "favorite" a designer so they can later invite the designer to a contest.

    Should have a friend list

Maybe we can have a friend list in our message sections and should be able to add any designer as a friend or some thing.

Use different system to showcase work

When the CH wants to view the work that you've done, he will want to see it full screen the way it would look like as a website. I recently found this site, http://www.codedpreview.com/, which allows you to upload and make it look like a real site. This better showcases the design that you have making a better influence on the CH. When you upload currently it tends to blur somewhat. Maybe that is better for fighting stealing, but people will still be able to easily copy what you have right now anyway. Just a suggestion, I've been currently using this website and it has been working well.

    More Specific Contest Brief

I've seen a number of contests where the Contest Holders give verrry little information about what they want and need exactly. Lots of times it's hard for designers to give them want they want because well..we don't know what they want. So we waste hours of brainstorming and designing when the CH could have simply added a few more things in the brief. So maybe just how "description, brand name, etc" are writting, there should be more fields for the CH to fill out specifying more things about what they want.

    Ensure timely declaration from CH

I think there need to be a system in place that ensures a contest holder has a set time period after the end of the contest (such as 2 days), after which he MUST declare if he is going to select a winner or not. This would put an end to CH's leaving designers in the dark for up to 5 days after a contest has ended. The CH should be made to agree to this clause before he is allowed to start a contest and there should perhaps have to pay a certain sum which he will only get back AFTER he has stated his intentions within 2 days of the end of the contest

This is something that is really needed, because there are few things worse than working hard on a design and then not knowing what has become of a contest. It is up to the CH to let the designers know in a timely fashion

create a panel of judges to oversee copying complaints planned

Realise that there probably isn't enough human resources to cover this suggestion, but I'll suggest it just the same :-) This comes from the fact that 'copying' is becoming rampant and there are no penalities for doing so.

There is too much blatant copying of other designers' entries going on at the moment and there is no recourse open to the 'copied designer' . Once a designer gets a 4 star rating or great feedback from the contest holder, it seems to be a green light for all the copiers to make an appearance.

Have this happen to you once or twice, a designer may take it, but when it happens over and over, just isn't on, particularly when it's the same handful of designers who are the culprits.

A panel of 99d admin staff could moderate and decide whether a copying complaint is valid and if upheld, the designer has to remove their entry.

Let CH know that there is no specifiCODING category

This is getting beyond a joke~ more and more requests for design & coded contests - and most are for the barest minimum in prize money... they don't ask for one page, but for a fully functioning website !

I'm fed up with being abused by CHs whenever I point them towards the prizes help page to enlighten them as to the minimum prize levels as well as showing them 'the no coding' line at the bottom of that page.

Either there is or there isn't a coding category. At the moment, it is all up in the air.

Please, either allow a coding category - with a 'buyer beware' notice as to the quality they may be getting,

OR at the very least, when a contest is being created , show in 'big capital letters' that there is no coding category - design only at this time...

Unless of course I'm wrong and you are allowing these contests to go ahead with no thoughts to the quality of the final project the contest holder will receive.
I've seen some of the coding that's been passed around here and I can see a lot of CH's being ripped off with the final deliverables - where the html has been spit out of a graphics program and where html pages don't validate and are not cross browser compatible.

99designs needs to make a stand one way or another... and certainnly clarify the position so that both contest holders and designs know where they stand !

    Confirmed Payment started

With the new health system the "holder has awarded x contests" maybe more in depth feedback for the contest holder, like eBay where the winning designer can confirm that they have been paid

Yup, that will come with enhancements to the guaranteed contests and prepaid contests system. Based on the users we have surveyed, it's actually pretty rare to not get paid if you have been declared a winner.

only allow the client to see all the entries

I propose that for the duration of the contest, only the client has access to all the designs, and can feedback to the individuals. Then once the contest is over, the client chooses the winner, and a few of their other favorites, and these are posted for everyone to see, and for archive purposes.

This is for all the designers out there that are pissed off with coming up with 4/5 star ideas… then watching as the more unscrupulous members of this community use those ideas as a springboard for 'their own'.

This way it will still be a great record of fantastic design, but will ensure everyone is judged on their own merit. As far as i can figure the only people it would annoy are just the kind of people this community could do without :)
