I have had 4 different contests just recently that have wanted to purchase my design after picking a "winner". They've said they try to go back & select a second design but can't. I do think there needs to be guidelines by 99designs as to how much a second prize is "worth" so that the designer doesn't get completely ripped off when the CH decides they want more than one design though.
I absolutely agree. There are some designs that I have worked on and are pretty proud of. It would be great to have a place to display them even if they aren't the winning design. Got my vote!!
I believe that there are entirely too many contests that are abandoned. Ok, so maybe the CH shouldn't have to pay for something they don't like, but the designers shouldn't design for nothing either. I personally have been involved in at least 5 contests that have 4 star designs and then they just decide they aren't happy with what they are getting. Designers need some protection from that.
