  1. Uhlats is right you need to be a designer or know how to dissect a design and have a good working knowledge of stock art, reputable sites logo's e.t.c. But to have current competing designers that moderate others is in my opinion a conflict of interests and would be to open to abuse. If it was to be a designer moderating others I think he or she would have to step away from competing in contests.

  2. Designs are getting recycled/stolen from old competitions and placed into new ones. Sitepoint had a policy not to allow stock, this was a good thing. The contests are becommong unprofessional and the only way to win seems to leech because comming up with a decent idea is only going to get it stolen now or down the track.

  3. I'd rather have a design that is in contention be shafted than not know at all and hold on the faint hope he or she might return to the contest and declare a winner.
Ch's holders need to be up front. If they aren't going to declare a winner, then tell us so we can move on. So yes i agree there needs to be a time frame in place or a definitive yes/no answer .

  4. this would be great idea! Just like istock but with logos. 99designs is already wasting storage space by having logos in closed contests. It just makes sense to try and sell them.

  5. this would be awesome, but i don't think Ch's should have to choose something if they don't get what they want and that is said within reason. If they give good ratings to designs then just abandon the contest then that's not on but if they genuinely don't like any of the designs submitted then fair enough they don't pick a winner.

  6. I like this idea only if it will stop the pointless garbage/fights and cheerleading that comes from the peanut gallery. Yes we get it people your all friends spoon in PM.

  7. @jhewit22 it should do the opposite because this way you wont have old designs tucked away in closed competitions and if someone does steal your work it's right there for the world to see, time stamp and all :)

  8. I have seen it all here, vector stock usage, bits and pieces and even whole design's being stolen from design sites e.g.:pixellogo. Make thumbnails and comments private and have someone monitor stock usage & blatant ripoffs from old contests & winning designs. Until where protected i say when in rome.
