  1. Any word on if this one might be planned? I just finished another contest and there are a few designers I would have loved to "bookmark" or favorite for my next contest

  2. This should definitely be an option to turn on or off. Otherwise it's almost impossible to keep up with all the individual feedback threads from the different designers in a contest. This doesn't seem too hard to implement either.

  3. As a contest holder, I know that if I do my job in explaining what I want and I know what I want, there's almost ZERO chance that I won't get that delivered if I start a contest on 99designs. I've done 2 guaranteed contests so far and I received over 100+ entries on each. If you can define "good", then the designers can deliver it. As I CH, I would rather all contests be prepaid

  4. I don't think a decision such as a winning design that will be the future of a person's website needs to be done as soon as 2 days. Sometimes there are LOTS o designs to look over and consider. In some corporate environments it can take days to get all the decision makers together. If the only concern is not knowing, then an email notification when the decision is made seems like a better answer

  5. I don't think there are any official coded contests currently at 99designs. They removed the category in favor of just having uncoded contests.

  6. As a Contest Holder, I highly support this. The fees shouldn't even be an issue. Even with the prepaid fee and the contest fee, you are still getting a GREAT value based on the quality of designs that are delivered. I just finished up a guaranteed contest for a web design site and I got more (and higher quality) entries than a NON prepaid contest for more money.

  7. A way to tip designers would be great. In my current contest, the level of eligible entries is so high, I'd love to be able to tip multiple entrants or give them some type of "2nd place/3rd place" monetary prize. They keep full rights to their entries; I would like to reward them for the obvious hard work and thought they put into the contest. The winner would still be paid the full amount.

  8. This one definitely has my vote. An affiliate program would be very nice.

  9. To me, there is some unwritten "ettiquette" in a contest situation like this. Like I don't ask for changes to a design that I know is going in the wrong direction. I try not to ask for "minor" changes that can be cleaned up at the end. I try to stop asing for changes if the design is "close enough" to make a decision.

  10. As a Contest Holder, I have seen how this can be abused (too many requests for changes), but I don't know how it could put into an effective "rule".

  11. I agree that an email alert to the CH when a new design is posted (or a new post in the contest area) would be VERY helpful.

  12. Other contest sites don't allow the contest holders to ask for elements from another designers entry. I think if the rules are clearly laid (maybe like 3 bullet points) on on the comments page right above where you type your feedback (instead of on a link at the bottom of the page that noone might read) then Contest Holder's will know what's expected of them.

  13. doesn't everyone have the same chance of winning? If your design entry is a quality design, I would think it has the same chance of winning whether you haven't won before or whether you just joined the site yesterday.

  14. I would also like to be able to rate the designers. Timely delivery of files and quality of communication after the contest would be things that other Contest Holders would want to know about a designer.

  15. Should the contest holder receive the files *before* the designer is paid in a prepaid contest?

  16. I like the current system of having all the comments for a specific designer on a separate page. It helps keep things organized.

I do agree that if a design does get referenced by the contest holder on the main contest for by number, that it should count towards the "health" of the contest.

  17. Also, sometimes there are good reasons for contests not having a lot of entries: (no feedback from CH, short/confusing brief, etc)

  18. I think of the contest listing fee as an advertising or administrative fee. Kind of like paying for a classified ad. There are no guarantees that your item will sell, but as long as the paper publishes your ad to a large base of subscribers (potential buyers), they've done their job. Your job as a classified advertiser (or a contest holder) is to make the most of that exposure.

  19. I don't think this would be a helpful addition

  20. The comments in the Destiny contest are way out of hand.Maybe part of the problem is that there are no real clear guidelines on what is "allowed" and expected of people in the main Contest comments area. Maybe a set of guidelines that could easily be referenced by the comment post pages would help.

  21. I think at least a "report post" feature would be nice. Although that would take some intervention from 99designs to come in and look at the post.It would be nice if the CH could be trusted enough to moderate the comments in their own contest.

  22. isn't that the way it's setup now? When a CH clicks on a designer's entry in their contest, they see all the designs submitted by that particular designer.
