  1. It's a matter of ethics. Perhaps we should all just sit back and leach...but then there would be no concepts presented to leach off of. Conceptualizing is one of, if not the hardest part in the design process and absolutely needs protection.

  2. Maybe if there was a section, like charity projects, at a low cost, then a new designer could enter those, try their hand, learn a bit more, improve their skills and might have better chances of winning. But the truth is you need to face the competition and challenge yourself.

  3. Agree with snug. In addition, we are requested to provide an endless number of "revisions"...this would effect the percentage rank tremendously! NO from me.

  4. Agree on the point of the feedback, and therefore it's good to see individual feedback. The issue becomes when you start seeing the same type of concepts being submitted based on that designer's feedback. Again, needs some form of moderating.

  5. Definately out of control...and highly unprofessional.

  6. This is excellent. I have 2 situations like this (one is legacy and one is recent).

  7. Inspiration is great, but we see that there is much more than that happening. What if there us an option that the designer could toggle on or off if they would like their entries submitted "invisible" to all but the contest holder? It would show in the thread as submitted but the entry is blocked out. Though I believe some of this could be resolved going back to the "moderator pool" solution.

  8. We are saying the samething, basically. I ran out of characters (space) and tried to condense what I was trying to communicate. :)

  9. Multiple prizes is indeed a nice attraction. My question would be does the designer relinquish the rights to the design or is this more of a consolation prize?

  10. Agree with Bob on this one. And, what would be the point to this?

  11. That is a good point, lachlan and no one designer should be the judge and jury, however, these moderators could bring it to the attention of a "pool" of moderators where the issue can be discussed and handled expeditiously. Right now you have lots of arguing going on in the contest's main thread and many entries seem to be more than "inspired" by others lately. Definately needs handling.
