  1. Or, as i have proposed that in the past - some milestones: 2 day blind submissions / 2 days open for all / 1 day shortlist / 2 days finalizing work with the shortlisted designers. This way both the goat and the cabbage will be at peace. ;)

  2. ANd on the other hand, think what brief it will be needed so everybody will perfectly understand the tasks. Also, what happens when some designers get frustrated because in 15 contests in a row will not receive any feedback? 100's of PM's? Yes.A simple solution will be a certain level of moderation or deal with the fact that you joined the community and use the given tools to protect your works.

  3. While, here you can develop an exponential evolution - belive me i am talking from years of ecperience on both communities - and furthermore you have the opportunity to get more work outside 99designs.
    Cheers

  4. ...be only a few designers who would be so privileged. The rest won't matter anymore. This system is applied on www.worth1000.com and believe me it doesen't work from the perspective of a n00b or even from an old designer. It's like in the mute movies, no one hears you and no one talks about your submissions. You can learn something but it would take a lot of time.

  5. That will atract more spam designers and cases when the designer will persuade the contest holder leading him to his entries. That atracts some jurors / moderators which will evaluate things - that means more time to search and so on.
Also, the lack of feedback: if this days the feedback is still a problem then with private submissions / hidden submissions / hidden comments there will be only...

  9. that is what i was talking about for 6 months.
Some users that proved in the past that have knoledges about corporate branding, logo ideas, usage, copyrights etc, that can report something based on some sustainable proofs.

  10. Moderating without having knoledges about logo design is useless. How can you believe a non-designer would know if a logo was used/seen before?

  11. I mean, hopefuly the cntest holders would understand that awarding 1 or two runner ups for a lower price does not mean that the designers must accept to give away their rights.

  12. True, the ammount is too low to give away the full rights.

  13. But why do you have to look into other designer's feedback?
All you are interested is general feedback and your entry feedback.
    This is a no.

  14. As Nadia said.

  15. And more than that, i believe that a New Message button is more likely needed.

  16. True, though lately i haven't seen so many willing CH to award more than one entry.

  17. xpressions said something about jury. Well, i don't think this is a matter of jury but rather a matter of supervising. The decision in this case is and i strongly advice to be made by a higher support member.

  18. I don't find any issue in the fact that a moderator can also be a designer. There is no connection between but the knowledge shared. Old designers should be taken into account. Choosing as moderators designers without a past activity and without having any knowledge of how design sourcing forums works is not the best way to deal with.

  19. I believe that a good way to handle this is to form a team of moderators and the decision should be discussed with the Team leader, in an open discussion. This discussion will be High Priority for the staff. The staff should have decisional factor but they must take in account Moderators opinions. This worked before and will work again.
