Moderation of entries would be a wise direction to go in. As a moderator on another well known site we have a system that all major decisions such as copyright issues and copying of fellow designer concepts etc are put forward to the moderation team to discuss in a private forum.
Generally I'll try to read the feedback on the top client favorites, as this will give me a direction to the client’s tastes (or lack of). Then I'll use my skills as a designer to come up with something unique that has the client’s flavor. Sorry for the longwinded statement…I’m a YES!
Surely not everyone is a fence sitter.The contest forums have so much bickering and name calling its like being back at school...very sad;(
