It requires work to remove watermarking. The idea is just to prevent working designers to have people here working and giving bright ideas for free to any "clever" design agency. I have an Agency and a client comes to me and ask me for a project and I grab and put a contest here and show the works has mine then to the pick by the client I just imitate is work. I choose my design to not pay prize.
Give feedback if you think you haven't got what you want. I'm sure any designer with just a bit of talent will give you what you expect has long has you give feedback.
Now if a contest for example has less then X entrys then the CH can have the option to have is money back. And what are Site Admins to start with this!?
I read that some CH don't want prepaid contests cos they might not like the submissions, What the Hell!!! A lot of people are worked for free doing those submissions and you have to respect that! What you are going to do if you don't like them? Go to a designer and given clear instructions on what you want based on what designers here worked for free?!?!?! That is opurtunism and extreme disrespect
I think it would be dumb of a contest holder to pay and not see all the work but yes it can happen if a work is submitted in the last few hours.
But what's most important in this idea is that it gives the designer the confirmation that is work was seen even if not rated (wich is not a good sign but at least points he has to follow other way).
And because no fraud was reported It does not mean it does not happen.
There are like what ? Billions of web pages? 6 billion people and raising. Why would it be needed for someone to report it to have it posible to have a contest fraud. I've been wathcing some contest and it clearly appears to me that something fishy is going on sometimes. Lot's of aboandoned contest. No feedbacks, etc...
If you want it clear for everyone. Everyone works more then what they really win.
Even if your IDEAS are consequently great and you win some contests on averall submissions you always loose on the amount of hours you worked. Wich means you get close to US minimum wage doing contest here if you are lucky.
Think! Would you hold a contest to save money on Doctors? What if it was an Arquitect? Would you hold a 200 or 300$ competition for making a building? No because they wouldn't buy that story. I sincerely dont get why designers do. After all it takes has many years has any career and most importantly you constantly need to improve.
I dont know what you do. But Im sure you don't do it for free and most importantly you are not told what to do if not getting paid previously. im doing this on the forum just to compete since at the moment I have a lot of free time in the Caribbean ;) But when I did worked in the bissness (mostly imprenta) I would not move me hands for less then 200$ daily. What a professional MUST GET PAID FOR!
Well you are 1 contest holder and obviously don't know how the others behave,
My biggest sugestion is to put in big red letters to contest submitters something like. "DON'T ABUSE! THIS PEOPLE ARE WORKING FOR FREE!!!"
And previously force them to read an agreement in wich things are explained well.
Designers want to compete. I'm sure you notice some contests dont' get submissions and the price his sometimes equal to others that are flooded. Now there is a reason for this. Competition. Many of us are not after the money but to try ideas.
Designers want recognition by winning over many. Althought money is nice. But certainly designers dont want to work for free over nothing.
But at least with some watermarking you can't grab anyone work has if it's yours andshow it off site somewhere.
You comment is totally wrong. I might have to reproduce but certainly no grab it directly from the site and show it has mine if a watermark is there. What matters here is not clutters but to express the concept idea. And no watermark will keep it from show it.
