  1. Everything you submit (by clicking 'Back' or 'Proceed' while stepping through launching a contest) is saved, and will be there when you come back. It only gets wiped when you actually launch the contest.

It would certainly be nice for this process to be clearer though, and to be able to send around a link to your contest draft to show colleagues etc.

  2. I think 99designs can add a lot of value by providing a contest-like interface for communication, display, and management of designs, and perhaps help designers by managing the invoicing and design exchange...

    What do people think?

  3. Sounds like you need an RSS or Atom feed of activity relevant to you... good idea.

  4. This sounds like a great idea. Hold tight for a couple of weeks though - and then we'll start pumping out improvements like this to the user interface ;)

  5. If the contest holder has not been running the contest quite right, they see a message saying "Click on the designs below to leave feedback and to read messages from the designers.". They also see "Click to leave feedback" on each design image when they mouse-over it.

    Does this address your concerns?

  6. Gandecruz: I've thrown in an extra vote on your behalf :)
Something like a friend list is definitely in the pipe-line...

  7. All the more tempting now that I have an iPhone :)
What kind of things do you think you'd want to check or do from your mobile device?

  8. That's true - it can be frustrating not hearing anything at all. How about if we prompt contest holders for a comment regarding their plans/timeline at the time that the contest ends?

  9. We're on the case! Nobody likes a cheap, petty spammer.

  10. We actually have Atom feeds (just like RSS) for most things, including designs submitted to contests.

However, further work will be put into adding new useful feeds, and also tidying up the existing feeds.

Your browser should detect our auto-discoverable feeds, and display a little feed icon in the address bar.

  11. Two days is certainly too short to require a winner be declared for all contests. However I agree that there should a set time (7 days?) in which we strongly encourage contest holder to do so.

There will occasional be contest holders that have legitimate reasons to extend this - for example if a winner is to be decided in an upcoming meeting, or if thousands of designs are submitted.
